Serving Those Who Serve
Rally Point Uniforms & Equipment was founded by Matt Tighe, a retired servicemember and Washington State-certified Veteran/Servicemember-Owned Business. Built on the principle of "Serving those who serve," Rally Point was launched to bring the same standard of readiness, reliability, and mission-first service that Matt experienced in uniform to the uniforms, equipment, and tactical gear supply chain for those who serve their communities and country.
Military, law enforcement, corrections, and public safety — these are the people Rally Point was built for. What started as a small, veteran-owned operation has grown quickly. As Rally Point took on more government and institutional customers across Washington State, demand began to outpace what a single small business could handle alone. Rather than turn business away, Matt made the decision to bring on a partner who could extend Rally Point's reach and production capacity while keeping the business veteran-owned and locally rooted.
There's a Story Behind This Picture
June 6, 1994 — the 50th anniversary of D-Day. I was in Normandy with the 2nd Ranger Battalion, as part of a specially planned trip to France for the anniversary — the biggest anniversary of all, since most of the guys who served in World War II had never been back until the 50th. It was a huge deal.
I got to hear their stories almost every time we ate with them, and it was a shocking experience. I watched two of those veterans — in their business suits, no less — rappel down the cliffs at Pointe du Hoc, the same cliffs they'd assaulted as young men. I met a German veteran who came back to personally thank the American soldiers for taking his surrender instead of killing him fifty years earlier. And everywhere we went, the French treated us like family — free wine, free beer, gifts, incredible food. We tried reminding them we weren't actually the guys who stormed the beaches fifty years back — we were too young. They didn't care. We were Americans, and that was enough for them to want to say thank you.
It made me so proud to be wearing that uniform.
After the ceremony at Pointe du Hoc, I wandered back into the cemetery by myself to pay my respects. Didn't know anybody buried there — just felt like the right thing to do. Had no clue anyone had a camera on me.
Fast forward almost 30 years. A photo pops up in a private Ranger group chat, and someone asks, "anybody know who this is?" I look at it and go... wait, that's me. Turns out it was taken by David Turnley — Pulitzer Prize-winning photojournalist — and it had been sitting in his portfolio, being sold as one of his pieces, this whole time. I had no idea it even existed until a buddy spotted it.
A few years back I took my wife and kids to Normandy and did the tour myself, showed them where it all happened. That generation gets called "the greatest generation," and they've earned it — but I'll say this, the guys I served with weren't too shabby either.
